News Hour w/Jim Lehrer

The broadcast news these days, is frankly, crap. Infotainment the lot of it, sound bites and glossed over information. THe only reliable news broadcast which I'm aware of is the News Hour on PBS. The anchors are unatractive so you know that the news is real. Fifteen to twenty minutes are spent on each story, the subject is examined indepth and inteligently. They often have roundtable discussions which don't dissolve didn't obnoxious yelling matches.

This evening they had a discussion between four american islamic leaders. Link to the text:http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec05/islam_8-04.html . It's funny, the Imam Shaker Elsayed wasn't willing to concede the fact that bombing israelis was wrong, he used the term justice and chided the young guy, Shadi Hamid, for thinking like someone removed from the reality of the situation in Gaza. This smelled very bad to me. If you aren't willing to condemn every sorta action of violence you're giving the bleeding islamic extremists a get outa jail free card....
