Bars Aren't For Sober People

Bars aren't for sober people. Bars aren't for half sober people. Bars are for drunks.

Many people think they have to be drunk to be relaxed in social settings. It's an excuse to loosen and up and say so really dumb stuff. Last night I watched a coupla guys from church get drunk and it was literally the funniest thing I've seen....... ever. *shakes head* It was ridiculous. And Galen (little guy) can hold his liquor like no other. He was downing tequilas and Kamikazes and Tom Jones and didn't get smashed until about 2AM.

I'm not sure what I think about bachelor parties now. There was alot of joking about "freedom" and establishing "order" and it was all deliciously stereotypical of what you'd expect from that sorta thing. I, personally, don't go in for that sorta thing. They even got Galen (the groom) an honest-to-God ball and chain to carry around. I was raised to think of marriage and the relationship between man and wife as being something based on respect and mutual affection. I'm sure the guys were just joking and around and weren't serious but still, that sorta thing rubs me the wrong way. And they kept on tryng to get me to drink. Why do drunks want other people to be drunk?
"C'mon, have some fun!"
They said. Looking into their watery unfocused eyes, watching as bumped into things and made insane statements, all I could think was "Sure that looks like fun".
They eventually got to me though when we toasted Galen back in the limo. They passed around the champagne and I ended up with the bottle and they'all peer pressured me into chugging what was left over after everyone had had some. It wasn't alot, but it was still enough to make me light headed and sleepy. Oh and the toasts? Hilarious. No one can toast like drunks. And the cap on the evening was going to Dennys. Those poor waitresses. No one deserves drunks in their restaurant at 3am.

Weddings' later today..... Here's hoping for some more inebriation entertainment.
